Adventuring Log: Day the first

Entry 1: Journals and Revisitation

Hello Journal, I’ve been advised that keeping a journal is a good way to keep myself sane as chaos encircles me, what with the being in the middle of a storm of activity and do-goodery. Bleh, whatever, I guess it’ll at least be a good way to keep track of all the escapades I’ve been on. I guess I’ll just start with what went on the other day in the little Free Company that I got put in charge of. I’ll try to keep this short and sweet but I make no promises.

Alright, so as with most days I’ve spent in Eorzea lately I started with a quick study-session of the summoning and scholarly arts, using skills and knowledge of them to fill some requests of the Centurio Clan’s hunting marks as well as helping out the Vath and the Vundu. Relatively quick work and a decent way to gain some practice as a summoner. Knock all those requests out and then it’s off to help the Moogles and Ixal by making things for them. They’re very appreciative and give me tokens that can be traded in for various goods that they have easy access to but I might be harder pressed to come by.

After my round of daily tasks for various peoples it’s time to see what the rest of the Company is up to… and since we’re small that’s maybe two other people. Don’t judge, Journal, I’m working on it but good people are hard to come by and I’m not just gonna pester random folk to join the Company. Anywho, check in with the FC, notice that Shakma’s just hanging around the estate (as per usual) and head there myself to join in. I’m not one to force people to do things, I wouldn’t want that done to me, but some folk just need that little motivational boost of “wanna come with?” in order to get their foot out the door and doing things for themselves. Apparently I can be that catalyst, which is a good trait to have around people who procrastinate.

Oh, right, hanging out. Yeah, we mostly just hung around the estate and chatted about random stuff, which is pretty common. Dawn was off making friends with the Scions and being reasonably self-motivated. He’s kinda new to Eorzea but seems to be fitting in quite well and is keen to pick up gardening, which is good ’cause that’s one of the more tedious things that I subject myself to. Hmm, I hope my Onions will be ready today, Felwind could use a good onion-feed to encourage his growth. Oh, right. Yeah, Dawn seems to be doing well, I made him some equipment to commemorate reaching his 50th level of power/skill, which is a normal thing here in Eorzea, and now he’s gotta go prove himself to the world. It’s like a coming-of-age deal, get up to 50 and have to help save the world (probably several times). Most of us have done that at some point, proving to our continent, city states, and companies that we’re valuable assets.

Well that got less journal-y and more anecdotally. Oh well, your my journal, I’ll do what I want. That being said, I don’t have much else to say about that day. Did some scholarly stuff, helped out some beast tribes, hung out with Shakma, made some stuff for Dawn, end of day. So with that I sign off.

Happy Hunting,
